Job Description

FreeTech is hiring a Senior Databricks Engineer to support high-impact federal data projects. You’ll be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, optimizing Spark-based workloads, and collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders to deliver secure, production-grade analytics solutions. This role requires prior experience working in secure, DoD or government environments, and a strong command of PySpark, Delta Lake, and the broader Databricks ecosystem. A valid CAC (Common Access Card) is required to begin work—we are unable to sponsor applicants without clearance.

Skill Requirements

  • Active CAC and prior experience working on federal or DoD contracts

  • Expert-level proficiency with Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, and MLflow

  • Experience building, deploying, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines

  • Familiarity with secure, compliant data environments and STIG requirements

  • Strong SQL skills and comfort with structured and unstructured data

  • Experience with data quality checks, lineage, and orchestration tools

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams

  • Bonus: Experience with Azure Databricks or FedRAMP-compliant cloud environments
